BTEs sit behind the ear and have a clear tube that hooks around the top of the ear. This device can be suitable for all types of hearing loss. Since it doesn’t require a custom fit, it can often be fit on the same day as a screening.
RICs are similar to BTEs, but instead of a tube, they have a wire attached to a receiver which is inserted into the ear canal.
ITEs are custom molded and fit in the outer portion of the ear. This style often contains manual volume controls for quick adjustments.
ITCs are custom fit to the ear canal. They are smaller than the ITE.
CICs are the smallest hearing device style. They are insert deeper into the ear canal than the ITCs and are practically invisible.
